When Inspiration Hits - My Week in Clay 6/30/17

This week I took a bit of a break from macaws to make a special project I have been thinking about for weeks. I have been getting back into watercolor painting at night and I sometimes use this to brainstorm project ideas. Twice in the last few weeks I have painted a quail pendant, and the idea has stuck with me ever since. I knew I had to sculpt them before the fire of inspiration left. So this week in between custom orders I made a batch of six California Poppy Quail pendants! When you get the inspiration to make an exciting project, follow it. I have found those kinds of projects bloom into life in a wonderful way.

These quail pendants will also be available for sale in my next update. Next week I will be back working on my blue macaw series. I have blue-throated macaws, hyacinth macaws, and Spix's macaws lined up to do next. If I have the time to, I would also like to make some Glaucous macaws. I will also begin sculpting my special Halloween/Fall project. Stay tuned for a little peek!
